PURPOSE:To obtain the titled pigment in high purity without any purification with the solvent used extremely easy to recover and reuse, by reaction, in the presence of an organic amine, between a hexazonium salt and specific coupling compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective pigment can be obtained by reaction, in the presence of an organic amine (e.g., ethylamine), generally in a solvent such as DMF, between (A) a hexazonium salt [e.g., a compound of formula I (X is anionic functional group)] and (B) a coupling agent of formula II, III or IV (X is benzene ring, naphthalene ring, indole ring, carbazole ring, benzofuran ring, or derivative therefrom; Ar1 is benzene ring, naphthalene ring, indole ring, carbazole ring, dibenzofuran ring or substituent therefrom; Ar2 and Ar3 are each benzene ring, naphthalene ring, or substituent therefrom; R1 and R3 are each H, lower alkyl, phenyl or substituent therefrom; R2 is lower alkyl, carboxyl or ester therefrom).
