Optical switching device including two capillary spaces 1, 6 defined by plates and containing two fluids which can be displaced electrically. One of the fluids has the same index as the plates. This fluid, placed in the path of an entrance beam FE1, enables it to be transmitted. However, in its absence, the beam is reflected. This device thus makes it possible to establish communications between a plurality of inputs and a plurality of outputs. Application to fibre-optic switching in telecommunication. <IMAGE>
