PURPOSE:To permit modes to be switched-over while an operating lever is grasped during the operation of working machine by providing a mode switcher to alter modes according to operating conditions for the handle of the operating lever to switch-over the cylinders of an arm-type working machine. CONSTITUTION:A mode switcher 16 having a movable piece 17 covered with a rubber cover 18 is provided in the upper hole 14 of an operating lever 10 to switch-over an operating valve through which discharger pressure oil is supplied to the cylinders of an arm-type machine in such a way as to permit it to operate on the first position I in the intermediate, the second position II in front, and the third position III in the rear side. When the movable piece 17 is set on the position I(or II or III) by pushing the lever 18, a mode suitable for heavy excavation(or medium or light excavation) is switched for example by a mode switching-over mechanism through lead wires 19 and 21 and a connector 20. The modes can thus be simply switched even on the way of the operation of the working machine.
