PURPOSE:To decide target point passage invariably accurately by updating the approach distance to a target point while comparing it with old data and deciding the target point passage according to the closest distance which is found. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 3 finds the position of an automobile on two-dimensional coordinates by sequential arithmetic according to the outputs of a distance sensor 1 and a direction sensor 2, and also stores and displays it on a display device 7 together with map information from a storage medium reproducing device 6. Further, the CPU 3 calculates the approach distance of the automobile to the target point and updates it while comparing the new and old data with each other successively to find the closest distance, thereby deciding the target point passage when the distance is smaller than a preset constant distance. |
