Clutch disc with friction linings secured on carrier plates

The invention relates to the design of carrier plates for friction linings of clutch discs. To reduce the weight and provide reinforcement, the carrier plates are provided in some areas with beads and in other areas with weight reduction openings. These carrier plates are either bonded to already produced friction rings or are pressed together directly with the friction material under the influence of temperature and/or pressure during the production of friction rings. The composite carrier plate/friction lining produced in this way is particularly rigid, light in weight and free from distortion.
