PURPOSE:To attain multi-purpose application of the titled equipment by providing an automatic answering means storing a voice signal into a memory and reproducing it later in detecting the voice signal from an opposite party within a predetermined time when no facsimile communication is applied. CONSTITUTION:After a DIS signal is sent as a facsimile communication procedure signal, if a voice signal from a opposite party comes during an non-signal period till the transmission of the next DIS signal, it is detected by a voice monitor section 7 and the transmission of the DIS signal from a MODEM 6 is stopped by a instruction from the control section 10 and the voice signal of the opposite party is stored in the voice memory section 8. In receiving the voice, the voice signal from the opposite party is finished and the timer 11 detecting non-signal detects the time-over of the non-signal state, the receiving operation is finished to disconnect the line. Moreover, the reception of automatic answering telephone is displayed during the voice reception and the facsimile transmission/reception function is stopped. Thus, multi-purpose applications of the equipment are attained.
