PURPOSE:To manufacture a high strength Al alloy sheet for wrapping having superior formability by rolling an Al alloy having a specified compsn. to form a sheet of a specified thickness, subjecting the sheet to soln. heat treatment at a specified temp. and cold rolling it to the final thickness. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy consisting of, by weight, 0.5-1.5% Si, 0.5-2.0% Mg, 0.05-1.0% Mn, 0.05-1.0% Zn, 0.1-0.8% Fe, 0.001-0.05% Ti, 0.1-0.5% Cu and/or 0.0001-0.001% B and the balance Al is homogenized and hot rolled and/or cold rolled to form a sheet whose thickness is >=1.6 times the final thickness. The sheet is subjected to soln. heat treatment at 450-580 deg.C and cold rolled to the final thickness or further aged at 100-250 deg.C as required. A high strength Al alloy sheet for wrapping is manufactured without deteriorating the formability.
