PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency as well as to prevent the irregular deformation of the titled foil during annealing when the foil is coiled and heated in a nonoxidizing atmosphere, by superposing the foil on stainless steel foil whose surface has been subjected to joining preventing treatment. CONSTITUTION:Foil 1 of a hardly reducible metal having a high m.p. formed by rolling is superposed on stainless steel foil 2 whose surface has been subjected to joining preventing treatment and the foils 1, 2 are coiled to form a double coil 3. This coil 3 is bound with a band 4 of 'INCONEL 718(R)' as a heat resistant alloy so that the coil 3 does not loose. The coil 3 is put in a furnace, annealed in vacuum or in an atmosphere of an inert or reducing gas and cooled by furnace cooling. After the coil is taken out of the furnace, the foil 1 is stripped from the foil 2. Since no gap is left between the foils of the coil, the irregular deformation is not caused during annealing and the edges elongated during cold rolling are restored. A stage for removing a joining preventing agent is made unnecessary because the aging is not applied.
