PURPOSE:To eliminate the trouble on the quality of product by vacuum- exhausting the lower part in a ladle by arranging a vacuum sealing device at the lower part of ladle and preventing the invasion of air into the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:The upper part of ladle 1 for refining apparatus is sealed for vacuum seal flange 13 for electrode 6 and a ladle flange packing 14. On the other hand, in the lower part in the ladle 1, the lower part flange 8 extended from a side plate of the ladle 1 is put on the base plate 9 and the vacuum room is formed by the bottom part of ladle 1 and the base plate 9, to vacuum- seal by the packing 11. During operation, the upper part of ladle and the lower part of ladle are held at vacuum. By the operation under vacuum, the invasion of air is prevented into the molten metal 7 from a porous plug part 15 for Ar blowing and a nozzle part 12 for casting. Therefore, the product having good quality is produced.
