PURPOSE:To improve the operation of an automobile by providing, on an electronic control device, a mode setting means that can be switched over by a mode selecting switch and a judging means that can determine whether or not a throttle opening and an automobile speed are in respective ranges of a low speed stage. CONSTITUTION:A winter mode switch 3, which makes change over between the normal running mode and the high speed stage starting mode alternatively, a throttle opening sensor 1 and a speed sensor 2, are connected to an electronic control device 4 so that the speed change stage can be selected by the signals sent from the throttle opening sensor 1 and the speed sensor 2. By this method, when it is desirable to start with a second speed or a third speed on a road such as a snowcovered road where the coefficient of friction is low, the desire can be coped with such situation by operating only the winter mode switch 3 and after starting, the mode is automatically switched to the normal running mode as the car speed increases so the operation of an automobile will improve. |
