PURPOSE:To decrease production stages and to reduce cost by disposing a buffing mechanism to the stage after drawing and subjecting the drawn case transferred in a transfer mechanism to buffing in succession. CONSTITUTION:The battery case 37 with which the drawing by a press is completed is transferred into a case support 15K for buffing of the place 1st from a die 14J by a transfer bar 22. A thrusting rod 19K descends at this timing to forcibly insert and hold the battery case into and in the through-hole of the case support 15K. A buff 3 disposed right under the case support 15K buffs the bottom of the case. The case 37 is removed from the support 15K as the rod 19K ascends upon lapse of the prescribed time. The case is further removed from the rod 19K as well by a removing means. The case is transferred into the ensuing case support 15L for buffing by the parallel movement of the transfer bar 22 and is subjected to polishing by the similar action; furthermore, the case is transported to the support 15M and the final buffing is completed.
