PURPOSE:To obtain an antitumorous active polypeptide having improved specific activity as well as stability, an extended range of reaction spectrum and reduced side effects, by modifying human tumor necrotic factor (TNF) protein. CONSTITUTION:A polypeptide having an amino acid sequence expressed by the formula or a polypeptide having Met (L-methionine) linked to the amino terminal thereof. A recombinant plasmid containing a DNA region is prepared to transform a microorganism therewith. Thereby the aimed polypeptide can be mass-produced.
