PURPOSE:To prevent one side contact of a press tool to a billet and to extend the service life of a press by detecting the core shift amt. of a billet by the gap sensor provided at the inlet side and providing the means to control the position of the right and left press tools according to the core shift amt. thereof. CONSTITUTION:When the center of a billet 2 is transferred in the state of differing from the center of a press device, the clearance amts. W1, W2 with both sides of the billet 2 are detected by gap sensor 27 and the signal thereof is transmitted to a control arithmetic device 18. The position variation of a press tool 3 is detected by the position detector 17 incorporated in a hydraulic jack 5 and the signal thereof is transmitted to a control arithmetic device 18. The control arithmetic device 18 control the valve opening of an electric oil pressure servovalve 19 so that the clearance amt. of a press 3 and billet 2 may become W'1, W'2. Whether the ram position inside a hydraulic cylinder 5 is coincident with a designated value or not is judged by the feedback signal of the position detector 17 to control the electric oil pressure servo-valve 19. With this mechanism, a bend is not caused on the billet 2 and the breakdown of the peripheral equipment can be prevented at the same time. |
