PURPOSE:To maintain high sensitivity in the region of 450-600nm by incorporating a photoconductor having sensitivity in a specified wavelength region and a triphenylmethane type dye sensitizing in the wavelength region of >=600nm in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains the photoconductor having sensitivity in the wavelength region of 450-600nm and the triphenylmethane type dye sensitizing in the wavelength region of >=600nm represented by the formula shown on the right in which each of R1, R2, R4, and R5 is H atom, methyl, trifluorophenyl group, or the like, and R3 is H atom, methyl, diethylamino group, or the like. The electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by successively laminating on a conductive substrate 1 a photosensitive layer 4 composed of an electric charge generating layer 2 and a charge transfer layer 3 to form a functionally separated structure, thus permitting high sensitivity in the wavelength region 450-600nm to be maintained. |
