MANUFACTURE OF BOTTOMED PIPE

PURPOSE:To easily manufacture the bottomed pipe whose shell part and bottom part are of an integral type by pushing a punch forward by charging an Al slug into the die of a bottomed box shape having U shaped crosssection. CONSTITUTION:An Al slug S is charged into the bottomed box shaped die 1 whose cross section is in about U shape. The slug S compressed by pushing on a punch 2 into this die 1. After the Al material of the slug S subjected to a plastic deformation with this pressure being filled up without any gap between the bottom face 3 of the die 1 and the end face of the punch 2 it is cylindrically pushed out in the reverse direction to the progressing direction of the punch 2 from the gap (t) located with the die 1 of a pump head part 2a. A pipe shell part 4 is made by this cylindrically extruded part, a bottom part 5 is formed between the bottom face of the die and the tip part of the punch 2 and the necessary bottomed pipe 6 is obtd. The die 1, punch 2 and slug S are preferrably controlled under heating at the temp. of 100-600 deg.C either at their extrusion forming time.
