PURPOSE:To reduce the size and the weight of a power source by providing an intermediate terminal for producing a 1/2 voltage in a smoothing circuit, and connecting the divided voltage to a converter when the applied voltage is high. CONSTITUTION:In a power source, switching terminals T1-T2, T21-T24 are provided at a smoothing circuit 1 and a converter 2, an intermediate terminal TC for producing a 1/2 voltage is provided in the smoothing circuit 1, and the switching terminals are connected by wirings 3 therebetween. The wirings 3 connect the transformers TA and TB in parallel for 3phi, 208V commercial power source as designated by solid lines, or in series through the terminal TC for 380V and 415V as designated by broken lines. Thus, transistors Tr1-Tr4 are synchronized with a predetermined clock signal to be turned ON, OFF, thereby outputting a predetermined voltage VDC at the output sides of the transformers TA, TB.
