Thermal electrostatic ink-jet recording wherein improved stability and speed of operation are achieved by use of an ink having a viscosity ratio satisfying the relative mu R/ mu H>10, where mu R represents the viscosity of the ink at 20 DEG C. and mu H represents the viscosity of the ink at a temperature between 70 DEG C. and 200 DEG C.
