PURPOSE:To maintain paint compsn. uniformly for a long period with a paint pan for a roll coater by inclining the bottom plate of the pan body diagonally upward so as to constitute a paint tank in which a paint accumulates above the gap of a throttling part and disposing two stirrers therein. CONSTITUTION:The bottom plate 2a of the pain body 2 is inclined diagonally upward and the paint tank is constituted of the pan body 2, a pickup roll 7 and a gap constituting body 8. The paint 12 is stored in such paint tank up to the level higher than the throttling part 6. The stirrer 3 for rotating flow fixed with stirring vanes 3b on a shaft 3a parallel with the pickup roll is provided and is rotated by inverting and iterating the rotating directions. The stirrer 5 for parallel flow fixed perpendicularly with the stirring vanes 5b to a shaft 5a parallel with the roll 7 is further provided and is linearly moved by inverting and iterating the motion in the axial direction. The settlement of the additives, etc., of large sp. gr. in the paint is prevented by the rotating flow and parallel flow and the pint is sufficiently stirred according to the above- mentioned constitution, by which the paint compsn. is uniformly maintained.
