PURPOSE:To uniformly maintain the toner density of each part of a developer in a developing container and to always execute development of stable and high quality by making developer carrying force larger gradually or stepwise as it goes toward the downstream side in the developer carrying direction. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is constituted so that the developer carrying force of a screw shaft 9 becomes larger gradually or stepwise as it goes toward the downstream in the carrying direction with respect to a developer carrying direction X of a developer stirring and carrying part, and a flow rate of the developer increases as it goes to the downstream side in the carrying direction. As a result, even if a toner replenishment quantity is uniform in each part of a replenishing port part 16, the quantity of the developer for taking in its replenishing toner, namely, the quantity of the developer which passes through within the replenishment time increases as it goes to the downstream side in the carrying direction, therefore, substantially, the toner replenishment quantity to the unit developer quantity decreases as it goes to the downstream side in the carrying direction, and the toner density of each part of the developer running along the carrying direction of the developer is equalized.
