PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent weld zone and to increase the working efficiency at the same time by forming electrode pressing parts of metals to be welded by cutting and retreating cutting tools at the time of welding and removing and collecting cut chips. CONSTITUTION:Two metal plates P1 and P2 to be welded are superposed and opposed to both electrode 81 and 82. The pressurized air is introduced into a pressurizing chamber A and respective cutting blades 16 are advanced toward the metal plates P1 and P2 to be welded and the electrode pressing parts (a) are cut and rust and scales are removed. The strength of the welded zone can be improved and the working efficiency can be increased by a device with this constitution.
