PURPOSE:To repair the riser pipe of a coke oven at low cost in short time, by supporting from outside the riser pipe as it is in its installed position, cutting off only a portion requiring repair and replacing the portion with a new one when repairing the riser pipe of a coke oven. CONSTITUTION:A riser pipe 5 is fixed to a support beam 7 etc. by means of a fixing bolt 9 etc., and hung in midair by means of the support beam 7 etc. While the hardware and internal refractory of the riser pipe 5 are kept connected to a riser pipe bend 2 and an oven top face 6, only a portion 8 requiring repair is cut off, replaced with a new one, and bonded, thereby accomplishing repair. This enables the repair cost to be reduced to about 1/10 and can shorten the working period by about 40% as compared to the conventional method in which the whole of riser tube 5 is lifted up, detached, carried, repaired and replaced.
