Sheet metal working press - with fitted alternative tooling

In a sheet metal working machine with a stationary lower tool holder and a vertically displacable upper tool holder, the lower tool holder incorporates at least one V-provile and is fitted with a slitting block whilst the upper tool holder is fitted with an edge punch and another slitting block. The upper and lower tooling may be displaced horizontally relative to each other so that either the V-profile and the edge punch or the two slitting blocks may be used in conjunction with each other. In addition the workings stroke of the upper punch is adjustable. The design permits the use of different tooling arrangements on one press without the need for lengthy fitting/or setting up of tooling.
