The parent patent relates to a device and to a method for the continuous reprocessing of spent oil, a single-tube reactor being used according to the invention. The waste products which arise in this method, such as in particular the water containing hydrocarbons and trace elements, and tar products, in particular coke, are further processed according to the present patent of addition in a manner beneficial to the environment, namely the water is passed through a vessel with the coke, which can be used for the manufacture of electrode carbon, and this absorbs the hydrocarbons and the trace elements. The tar products issuing at the end of the single-tube reactor can also be mixed with this coke.
