PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for a driving process by supplying electric power to a heating electric furnace only for a set time according to the amount of a sample supplied to the heating electric furnace. CONSTITUTION:When a command for selecting the amount of the sample to be analyzed is outputted from a spectrophotometer 20 to a sample carrier 9 and a time setter 22, a container 10 corresponding to the amount is selected and a drying time corresponding to the amount of the sample is set. Namely, the time setter 22 is stored with a map for drying time setting and sets the drying time corresponding to the amount of the sample under the command of the spectrophotometer 20 to output a signal corresponding to the time to a power supply controller 24. The controller 24 supplies the electric power from a power source 5 to the heating electric furnace 3 only for the specified time with the signal from the time setter 22. Consequently, when the sample in the specified container 10 is injected into the electric furnace 3, drying is carried according to the amount of the injected liquid drops.
