PURPOSE:To obtain a pulverized coal burner of mono-fuel combustion without an assist fuel combustion, by feeding pulverized coal of thick density which has a specified volumetric feeding ratio to a pulverized coal pipe to a stabilizing coal burner, by feeding the remaining pulverized coal of thin density to a loading coal burner, and by operating the stabilizing coal burner and the loading coal burner as a pair of burners. CONSTITUTION:The thicker the density of pulverized coal is, and the smaller the particle diameter of coal is, the higher the heating efficiency is, in order to heat pulverized coal particles up to an ignition temperature. With such cool stabilized flames can be obtained in a low loaded zone. The volumetric feeding ratio to a stabilizing coal burner 5' is determined as needed to stabilize flames only, that is, 10-30% of overall coal volume to be fed to coal burners, while the volume to a loading coal burner of conventional type provided in the neighborhood is determined as 90-70%. The loading coal burner of conventional type injects both combustion air 17' and fuel in parallel flows. In such a manner features of each one of a pair of burners are utilized best, and fire-retardant coal of high fuel ratio can be burned stabilizedly and in high efficiency.
