PURPOSE:To prevent recording data from lacking by inserting editing data into a selection area so as to record it. CONSTITUTION:If a selection means 14 selects an area with over prescribed area where picture data does not exist in the storage area of picture data stored in a first storage means 5, a data editing means 15 edits data showing an originating source stored in a second storage means 9 so that the data is adapted to the selected area, inserts it into the selected area of the first storage means 5 so as to record picture data. Thus, recording data can be prevented from lacking even if a cut sheet is used as a recording paper.
