PURPOSE:To listen to the voice of the opposite party in an excellent way even during a period from the hook-off of a handset till the contact of it to the ear by interrupting a received voice signal supplied to a speaker when the handset is hooked off till a prescribed time elapses. CONSTITUTION:With a handset 2 hooked off, a detection signal 10a is outputted from a hook switch 10 and given to a control means 11. The detection signal 10a outputted from the hook switch 10 is given to a delay section 12 and supplies to a speaker switch control section 13 with a delay of several seconds. Thus, the received sound voice is outputted from a speaker 3 during the period A and from the receiver 2 during a period B, the voice is outputted overlappingly from both the speaker 3 and the receiver 2 during the period B. Thus, the absence of voice from the hook-off of the receiver 2 till the contact to the ear is avoided and smooth talking is applied.
