PURPOSE:To control a page update timing on a screen fitting to the progression of melody, by providing a timing memory which stores a timing when a picture data being positioned at the forefront of a page is received, and accessing to the timing memory corresponding to the progression of the melody in an off-line operation. CONSTITUTION:At the time of performing an on-line operation, the picture data is stored in a reception buffer memory 7, and also, the contact of the reception buffer memory 7, for example, an index data which represents a page number data showing the forefront of the page is stored in order in an index RAM fitting to the progression of the melody. And at the time of performing the off-line operation, the content of the index RAM is retrieved in order corresponding to the progression of the melody. As a result, it is possible to coincide the read timing of the area of the reception buffer memory 7 where the content representing a page update part is stored with a melody progressing point corresponding to the same page update point as that in the on-line operation. In such a way, it is possible to fit the read timing of the reception buffer memory 7 to the progression of the melody at the time of performing the on-line operation even in the off-line operation.
