PURPOSE:To match a plane of polarization in a short time by mounting 1st and 2nd magnetic disks which have through holes in the centers and also have polarizers fitted on the opposite sides from a circular magnet in a base groove in contact or closely on both sides of the circular magnet so that the disks are inscribed. CONSTITUTION:A base 1 which has the arcuate groove, the circular magnet 4 where a Faraday rotator 2 is fixed and held in the through hole at the center part by a pressing member 3, and the disks 6a and 6b to which the polarizers 5a and 5b are fitted covering the through hole are arranged so that the disks are on both sides of the magnet 4 and the magnet 4 and disks 6a and 6b are inscribed with the groove of the base 1 respectively. Then the base 1 and disk 6 are made of adhesive materials such as iron and 'Permalloy(R)' and the magnet 4 and disks 6a and 6b are mounted in contact on the base 1 by utilizing the magnetic force of the magnet 4. Then when a semiconductor laser 7 and the plane of polarization of the 1st polarizer 5a are matched, the two disks 6a and 6b and magnet 4 are only rotated on the groove of the base 1 while the disks are attracted by the magnet 4. Consequently, the plane of polarization is matched extremely easily. |
