PURPOSE:To simply treat melting raw materials having various kinds and shapes by gathering together without classifying, by heating material packing the raw material in a pipe by electron beam or plasma bean. CONSTITUTION:The melting raw materials S having various sizes are packed without classifying as they are into a box 1 having partitioned member 1a or pipe 2 having partitioned member 2a. This is inserted little by little from one end in a high temp. heating zone 5 by the electron beam or the plasma beam 3 as heating source, while holding it horizontally on the water cooling mold 4 in a vacuum melting furnace. The melting raw material S is melted down together with the box 1 into the water cooling mold 4, and pool of the molten metal 6 is formed at the upper part of water cooling mold 4 and on the other hand, an ingot 7 is formed at the lower part of water cooling mold 4 by the cooling and solidification of molten metal 6.
