PURPOSE:To provide a compact scooter by providing an exhaust controlling valve on a muffler in a unit swing type scooter type vehicle. CONSTITUTION:An one unit swing type vehicle is provided by supporting the front end of a power unit on a car body frame through a pivot. An exhaust controlling valve 90 for varying the area of exhaust flow path near the opening end at the downstream side of an exhaust pipe 88 is mounted to a muffler 40. The muffler 40 is utilized for an expansion chamber 40a, so that any separate independent expansion chamber is not needed and a compact power unit can be provided.
