PURPOSE:To reduce the space for disposition of an input and output device and to reduce a production cost by commonly using a driving part having a printing head and a sensor head used by switching to either one according to a necessity for a head switching and the switching of an output and input processing. CONSTITUTION:The printing head 11 for outputting to a two dimensional plane input and output medium 5 and the sensor head 12 for inputting an image from the medium 5 are disposed in the input and output head 1 of an image input and output device 6. The direct movement and the relative movement of both the heads 11, 12 to this medium 5 are controlled by a driving part 2. The switching of the heads 11 and 12 and the control of the driving part 2 are carried out by the control part 3 of the device 6. The control part 3 operates as an interface between a computer 7 and it to control the switching of the input and output head 1 and the switching of the roller 4 of the medium 5 by the driving part 2, make the device compact, reduce the space for disposition and reduce the cost.
