PURPOSE:To efficiently perform the management of a source program, by utilizing an index information source data in a source library. CONSTITUTION:When the source program is referred to corresponding index information, access to the source library 3 in a memory means 2 is performed by a source library accessing means 1. It is possible to obtain information regarding the source programs 5-8 from a directory which manages the source program. Also, the index information of the source program can be referred by taking out the index information corresponding to the source program which becomes an object in the index information source data 9 via an index information directory. The source data 9 can be accessed simultaneously via the accessing means 1 at the time of generating, correcting, deleting, and referring to the source programs 5-8, and a list can be displayed or printed out. Thus, it is possible to efficiently perform the management of the source program.
