PURPOSE:To use a positive replacement hydraulic motor as an index motor and a brake motor by providing either an inflow passage for stopping or an outflow passage on the positive replacement hydraulic motor. CONSTITUTION:Five variable-displacement oil chambers 8a-8e functioning as a hydraulic chamber are formed on a casing 2 of a positive displacement motor, an inflow port 50 for stopping is formed on a cylinder 4 forming the oil chamber 8a, the inflow port 50 for stopping is communicated with an oil chamber port 48a through a communicating path 46a, and the communicating condition of the inflow port 50 for stopping with A port 38, B port 40 and the oil chambers 8a-8e can be switched by a rotary valve 34. Thus stopping can be conducted by using an essential function of a hydraulic motor, so that the positive displacement hydraulic motor can be used as an index motor and a brake motor.
