Smoke detector operating on the principle of an air condenser and constructed using interchangeable modules. According to the figure of the abstract, the invention is characterised by two reinforcing members, one forming the cap 12 and the other consisting of the metal plate 31. The radioactive source 32 is fixed by adhesive bonding onto the electrode 31. The collector electrode 33 is joined to the transistor 31 which is itself directly connected to the velocimetric measurement circuit 20. This assembly receives various plastic caps acting as a support and protection. The invention is used in the fire-fighting industry. <IMAGE>
