The present invention relates to a removable base for a catheter and a corresponding catheter 1, the base comprising three parts 3, 4, 5 which can be assembled in pairs 6, 7, the first part 3 comprising, on the inside, a pierced flexible seal 8 intended to receive the proximal end of the catheter 1 and capable of clamping it when it is assembled with the second part 4 interacting with the said seal, the third part 5, acting as an internal guide for the catheter, being retracted after the latter is put in place, which are characterised according to the invention in that the proximal end of the catheter includes a rigid part 2, and that the third part 5 includes a metal sleeve 9 whose length is such that, in the assembled position, it passes through the first two parts 3, 4, extending beyond the flexible seal 8, and whose internal diameter is slightly greater than the external diameter of the proximal end of the catheter.
