An electric household appliance, such as a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker or the like, has a spring-balanced front loading door (6) which is hinged to the body of the appliance above a recess 5 at the base and also includes at least one tension spring (9) of which one end is connected to the door by means of a flexible cable (10) which runs over at least one return wheel (11), and is characterised in that the other end of tension spring (9) is connected to the body (4) by means of a lever (12) which is pivoted on the body and has a threaded portion which cooperates with a threaded rod (15) having an adjustment head accessible from outside the body and rotatable to adjust the lever between first and second angular positions in which the spring (9) is under minimum and maximum tension, respectively. <IMAGE> |
