PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound from cyclohexanone, hydrogen peroxide and ammonia at a low cost, by separating and recovering an aqueous phase containing catalyst component, etc., from reaction liquid, extracting and removing impurities from the aqueous phase, concentrating a part of the phase under a specific condition and recycling to the reaction system. CONSTITUTION:Cyclohexanone, hydrogen peroxide and ammonia are made to react (2) with each other in water in the presence of a catalyst such as ammonium acetate and the reaction liquid is extracted with an extraction solvent 3 to separate and recover (4) an oil phase 5 containing the reaction product. The aqueous phase 6 containing the catalyst component, etc., is extracted (7) with an extraction solvent to remove the impurities 9 and at least a part of the obtained aqueous phase liquid is recycled to the above reaction system 2. The remaining part of the aqueous phase liquid is concentrated at 80-150 deg.C in a concentration column 10 lined with a corrosion-proof heat-resistant coating layer and reused by circulating (11) to the above reaction system 2. The catalyst component, etc., can be effectively recycled and reused without causing the lowering of selectivity with metallic ion and the titled compound can be produced in an extremely high efficiency at a low cost.
