1307410 Towel dispensers CWS APPARATE AG 9 June 1970 [24 June 1969] 27760/70 Heading A4G [Also in DivisionF2] An arrangement, for example for a hand towel dispenser, for the temporary locking of a spindle 1 against rotation after two or more rotations of the same comprises a member 5 which is movable relatively to the spindle against spring and/or gravity biasing and carries a suction cup 12. A campiece 8 is secured to the spindle and cooperates at every revolution of the spindle with a different one of a plurality of abutments to urge the member 5 and hence the suction cup 12 stepwise towards a fixed counter element 3. When the suction cup 12 and the counter element 3 are engaged the rotation of the spindle is halted by the engagement of the campiece 8 with the member 5 Fig.4, (not shown). The number of abutments equals the number of revolution required before locking of the shaft, the abutment except for the last engaged by the campiece 8 each comprising a pawl 7 which co-operates with a detent 11 fixed with respect to the spindle to hold the member 5 in sequence its intermediate position(s). As the or each pawl leaves the detent 11 it pivots under gravity and the reaction of a surface 10 into its initial position so that, when the suction cup 12 parts from the counter element 3 the member 5 can move under the spring and/or gravity biasing into its initial position. In a modification the cup carrying member is pivoted and the or each pawl is pivoted thereto Figs.5 to 8, (not shown).
