PURPOSE:To obtain a sound recording holding state by preparing a proper part where sound recording is not executed after the completion of sound recording by providing a muting circuit and a holding circuit which holds a control signal in a specified time. CONSTITUTION:When a broadcasting station, which is broadcasting music, is received, the M output from an M/S bit decision circuit 4 is H and the S output from the circuit 4 is L because an M/S code demodulated by an RDS code modulation circuit 3 is '1'. Next, when the music alternates with speech in the broadcasting the M output from the M/S bit decision circuit 4 becomes L and the S output from the circuit 4 becomes H because the M/S code becomes '0'. At this time the S output is given to a muting circuit 5 through a second switching switch as the control signal and the voice is made to be muted, and also the holding circuit 8 gives the S output to a flip flop 14 after in a specified time. As a result a tape recorder 12 becomes in a pausing state after recording non-signal state prepared by the muting circuit 5 in a certain time.
