PURPOSE:To enable high-quality images to be obtained with an accurate ejection timing without enhancing the resolving power of an encoder for a main scanning motor, by finely controlling the timing of ejection from nozzles by a clock signal having a frequency higher than that of an image clock signal. CONSTITUTION:When both output signals from a shift registers 106a-106d and output signals from latches 107a-107d are simultaneously ON, an ENABLE signal is turned ON for a period of time for energization of heaters, whereby heater drivers 109a-109d are turned ON, and the heaters are energized, thereby ejecting an ink. By controlling the period of time Td from the turning-ON of an N.L.E. signal to the turning-ON of the ENABLE signal, it is possible to finely control the timing of ejection of the ink from the nozzles. The period of time Td is finely controlled at an interval smaller than the interval of dots (of ejecting nozzles) by using a pulse signal (clock phi) having a frequency higher than that of a video clock signal phi (CLK 8) at the time of outputting the ENABLE signal from a generating circuit 101 for a head driving timing signal. |
