PURPOSE:To enhance potential contrast by incorporating sucrose ester in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by forming on a conductive substrate the photosensitive layer containing a photoconductive pigment and a binder resin, and moreover, sucrose ester, such as sucrose acetate isobutyrate, sucrose benzoate, sucrose octaacetate. Since these esters are a little different from each other in compatibility with the kinds of resins, it is preferred to select the ester in accordance with the resin to be used. As the solid components of the photosensitive layer, the proportions of the 10-90wt% photoconductive pigment, the 8-80wt% binder resin, and the 2-30wt% sugar ester are preferable, thus permitting the potential of an electrically charged part to be enhanced, dark decay to be reduced, the potential of the exposed part to be maintained or lowered, and consequently, potential contrast to be improved. |
