PURPOSE:To improve a comfortable feeling just after the starting of an operation of an air conditioner having heat accumulative unit by method wherein if there is a sufficient accumulation of heat of a thermal accumulation unit when a heating operation is started, hot air is blown and if there is insufficient themal accumulation, cold air is prevented from blowing off. CONSTITUTION:A front surface of a main body A of an indoor unit is formed with an air suction port 1 and an air blowing port 2 is formed at a lower part of the main body A. An indoor heat exchanger 3 is arranged near the suction port 1, and a themal accumulation unit 4, an indoor fan 5 and a casing 6 are arranged at a rear part of the indoor heat exchanger 3. The indoor heat exchanger 3 is fixed with an indoor heat exchanger temperature sensor 7 so as to detect the temperature of the indoor heat exchanger. The thermal accumulation unit 4 is provided with a thermal accumulation heat temperature sensor 8 spaced apart from an electric heater 4b. When the heating operation is started and the thermal accumulating is determined as insufficient, the indoor fan 5 is operated by a control device in simultaneous with the starting of the operation and in turn when the thermal accumulation is insufficient, the indoor fan 5 is controlled to be stopped.
