<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound, containing a trace amount of residual epichlorohydrin in resultant products and usable even in the field of electronic industry, by reacting the epichlorohydrin with an alcohol and alkali using a boron trifluoride compound as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:1mol epichlorohydrin is reacted with 1-3mol alcohol, e.g. allyl alcohol, etc., using a boron trifluoride compound, e.g. boron trifluoride, ethyl etherate complex of boron trifluoride, phenol complex, acetate complex, methyl alcohol complex thereof, etc., as a catalyst and then with an alkali, e.g. sodium hydroxide, etc., to provide a low-saponifiable chlorine-containing glycicyl ether. The amount of the added catalyst is preferably 0.01-0.002mol based on 1mol epichlorohydrin.</p> |
