PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yarn providing high-quality carbon fiber having excellent physical properties without causing yarn-to-yarn fusing during calcination process, by coating precursor yarn for producing carbon yarn with an alicyclic epoxy group-containing silicon type finishing oil. CONSTITUTION:Preferably in yarn manufacturing process, precursor yarn for producing carbon yarn is coated with 0.01-5wt% based on yarn weight of a silicone type finishing oil which contains 0.05-10wt% alicyclic epoxy group and has 1,000-15,000 centistokes viscosity at 25 deg.C to give the aimed yarn. For example, a silicon type finishing oil shown by the formula (n1 is 1-5 integer; n2 is 0 or 1; R and R1-R9 are H and/or alkyl) may be cited as the silicon type finishing oil. |
