PURPOSE:To obtain a novel reactive cationic agent, consisting of a specific quaternary ammonium halide, having excellent heat resistance, compatibility as well as stability and widely utilized as antistatic agents, moisture absorbents, antimicrobial agents, etc. CONSTITUTION:A reactive cationic agent expressed by formula I [R1 and R2 are 1-3C alkyl; R3 is 1-22C alkyl, alkylene or benzyl; B is formula II or III; A is ClO4<->, R4-SO3<-> or R4-SO4<-> (R4 is alkyl or alkylphenyl), 1/2SO4<2->, H2PO4<->, NO3<-> or R5-COO<-> (R5 is 1-22C alkyl, alkylene or alkylphenyl)]. Furthermore, the cationic agent is obtained by reacting, e.g. a quaternary ammonium halide expressed by formula IV with a metallic salt expressed by the formula MA (M is metallic ion, e.g. Ma, K, Ca, etc.) in a molar amount of 0.8-1.2 times based on the quaternary ammonium halide expressed by formula IV.
