PURPOSE:To easily perform the maintenance of the main electrode by covering with a conductive foil at least the surface of the anode of the cathode and the anode constituting the main electrode of a gas laser device. CONSTITUTION:Of a cathode 8 and an anode 9 constituting the main electrode of a gas laser device, at least the surface of the anode 9 acting as a catalyst is covered with a conductive foil 11. And, during the use, variation with time occurs such as degradation of the stability of the main discharge due to the corrosion of the surface of the anode 9 or reduction of the catilytic effect. In such case, only by replacing the conductive foil 11 covering the surface of the anode 9 with a new one, the stability of the main discharge and the catalytic effect can be regenerated. With this, the maintenance of the main electrode can easily be done. |
