PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity while improving a granular characteristic and sharpness and to prevent staining by incorporating a specific magenta coupler into the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The magenta coupler expressed by formula [I] is incorporated into the above-mentioned material. In formula, A denotes a magenta coupler residue, R1, R2 denote an alkyl group, alkenyl group, cycloalkyl group, aryl group or heterocyclic group, R3 denotes a group which can be substd. to a benzene ring, n denotes 0-2. R3 may be respectively the same or different and a ring may be formed by R3 with each other when n is 2. The photosensitive material which contains the magenta coupler to release, at a sufficient speed, a reducing agent having the high capability to scavenge the oxidant of a color developing agent at the time of development, has the excellent granular characteristic and sharpness and high sensitivity and has a lower tendency to staining is thereby obtd. |
