PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous connection from occurring caused by the mistake of a dial operation, etc., by driving a dial number recognizing means provided at a telephone set by the output signal of a return means prior to the call of the telephone set on a caller side, and notifying a dial number issued by a caller with the recognizing means. CONSTITUTION:A dial signal sent from the telephone set 1 on a caller side is detected at an exchange 7, and simultaneously, is detected at a dial signal detection circuit 5. The dial signal detected at the dial signal detection circuit 5 is sent to a control part 6, and is stored in a storage part 6'. The control part 6, when receiving the input of the final digit of the dial signal, sends the information of all of the dial signals to a recognition device 2. After that, the control part 6 sends a completion signal to an exchange control part 8, and the exchange 7 catches a callee line 9 finally, and sends a call signal to the telephone set 10 on the callee side. The recognition device 2 converts inputted information of the dial signal to the information of the dial signal possible to be recognized by the caller, and impresses it on the recognition device 2 such as dial number display by a LED, or number vocalization by a voice synthe sis, etc., and it is notified to the caller by the recognition device.
