PURPOSE:To improve the specific consumption of fuel upon reflecting properly the will of driver by disposing pulleys along a wire cable arranged from an accelerator pedal to a throttle valve in the intermediate position of a device for opening and closing the throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:A controller for a throttle valve consists of two pulleys 1, 2, a plate 3 for interconnecting these pulleys and a motor 4 for driving the pulleys. An accelerator pedal 8 is connected to the throttle valve 7 through a wire cable 6 and pulleys 1, 2. In the forward rotation of the motor 4 is dragged the wire cable 6 by the pulleys 1, 2 to open the throttle valve 7. Also, in the reverse rotation of motor 4 the throttle valve 7 is opened only a little even if the accelerator pedal 8 is pedalled since the wire cable 6 sags in the reverse direction. Thus, the opening of throttle valve can be properly controlled according to the will of a driver to improve the specific consumption of fuel.
